Purple Christmas!

Hard to believe but I am now starting to make Christmas cards! Wow, the year has flown by! We are onto another challenge at Hooked On Craft Challenges and our challenge this time is 'Christmas - no red or green'. I have made a card for a friend who loves the colour purple, so I have made a nice purple and blue themed card. My image is one of the gorgeous stamps from La-La Land and she is called 'Christmas Elf Marci'. I have coloured Marci with copics and added lots of glitter and glossy accents. My 'wish list' is a stamp from Whimsy Stamps and I embossed it with pretty purple embossing powder. My corners are also from Whimsy Stamps and I cut them out with glitter paper (can't get enough glitter on my cards!). As always my beautiful flowers and rose buds are from the fabulous Hooked On Craft.

Please join us at Hooked On Craft Challenges for our 'Christmas - no red or green' challenge!

Snails In Love!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday. It is now time for challenge #15 at Hooked On Craft Challenges and the theme this fortnight is 'try something new'. I recently purchased distress inks and distress re-inkers (I accidently found myself purchasing every colour, but my excuse it that I got them on sale!). I have never tried to colour with distress inks so I thought this challenge was a perfect opportunity to have a go. I actually found it quite difficult to do, but I had fun so i'll definitely keep practicing! My cute stamp is called "two snails on a heart" and is from Hooked On Craft. My gorgeous flowers and leaves are also from Hooked On Craft and are new items! I love the quality of the flowers and these new ones are stunning (especially the flower buds!). My background hearts were cut out with Spellbinders and my birds and small hearts are Martha Stewart punches.
Please join us at Hooked On Craft Challenges for our 'try something new' challenge! Can't wait to see what new things you all come up with!

Jingle Bell Ride!

Last month I was thrilled to win a challenge at Try It On Tuesday and i was even more thrilled when they asked me to be a guest designer! Our challenge this time is 'anything goes'! Being the Christmas season I made an easel-style Christmas card featuring one of the gorgeous horses designed by Crissy Armstrong called Jingle Bell Ride. I coloured my stamp with copics and added some glitter for added sparkle. I embossed my tag (on the bottom half of my card) and my background green core-dinations paper with my cuttlebug then I sanded the embossing back to reveal the core of the paper and added bling to the holly leaves. My red background paper was created with a Martha Stewart punch-around-the-page (love Martha Stewart punches they are the best!). My pointsettia flowers are from Hooked On Craft.

Please join us at Try It On Tuesday for our 'anything goes' challenge! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's creations!

I am entering my card into the following competitions:

Winter Wonderland In A Snow Globe!

We are now up to challenge #13 at Hooked On Craft Challenges and our theme for this fortnight is "winter wonderland". I am so excited that it is nearly Christmas, so I made a Christmas card featuring a snowglobe! My cute stamp is 'reindeer in sleigh' from Hooked On Craft and I coloured him with copics (how cute is he??!!?!!). I cut my snowglobe out using my Cricut and 'christmas cheer' cartridge. Over the top of my globe I cut out transparent paper to give the effect of glass and added some white coloured glitter at the top for 'snow'. My goreous poinsettias, holly leaves, bling, trinket pins, and sweet little snowflake charm are all from Hooked On Craft. I added candy cane stickles to the poinsettias to give them a glittery Christmas feel and I added diamond stickles to the edges of my snowglobe for added sparkle.

Criss Cross Card!

A big thank you to everyone who entered our last challenge at Hooked On Craft Challenges; your Halloween creations were wonderful! Congratulations to the winner and top 3! We are now onto Challenge #12 and our theme this fortnight is 'something punched'. You can use all your favourite punches (Martha Stewart are my favourites!) and die cuts for this one. For my card I created a 'criss cross' card where the centre pulls out. I found a tutorial for this style card here and thought I would give it a go. For my stamp I used one of the gorgeous birds  from Hooked On Craft and coloured him with copics. I cut the frames behind my stamp out with Spellbinders 'beaded ovals' and embossed one with my cuttlebug and sanded the paper back to highlight the pattern. My punched border is a Martha Stewart punch and I inked the edges of my papers with Distress Ink in 'walnut stain'. All my flowers, leaves, buds and berry head stamens are from Hooked On Craft. They started off white and I coloured all of them with my favourite Glimmer Mist (love, love, love Glimmer Mist!) in 'peacock', 'creme de chocolate', 'dragonfly' and 'dazzling diamonds'. My cute little key charm hanging off my ribbon and my bling are also from Hooked On Craft!

Please join us at Hooked On Craft Challenges, can't wait to see everyone's punched papercrafts!
